Larry Elder Mulling GOP Presidential Run, Even If Trump Joins Race

Even if former President Donald Trump seeks re-election in 2024, the Republicans will run for president in 2024.

In an interview with the Des Moines Register, he told the publication the following: “I’m running for president. And I’m not running against anybody on the Republican side… I’m running against Joe Biden if he runs, or Kamala Harris if she runs.”

During California Governor Gavin Newsom’s recall campaign, the now-70-year-old Elder rocketed to national notoriety as the Democratic governor’s Republican opponent. Elder has remained a rising political figure within the Republican party despite his unsuccessful bid for the governor’s mansion.

According to The Hill, he formerly aired a conservative talk radio program for decades until April of this year. He is also the executive producer of the documentaries “Uncle Tom” and “Uncle Tom II,” both of which were released in recent years.

Trump’s possible presidential run in 2024 has been the subject of much conjecture. The former president has regularly hinted at a possible return to politics. He told Vanity Fair in July “Well, in my own mind, I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore. In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision.”

“I feel very confident that, if I decide to run, I’ll win,” he also said.
